I’m starting to become a really big fan of Gift Cards.

They’re great because, unlike debit and credit cards they’re separate to your personal banking. I’ve found that this gives shoppers some form of accountability while they’re shopping, they have a set amount to spend kind of a thing.

GiftCardLab.com is a great place to get your Gift Cards Online.  Not only do they have marvelous service online but you can upload your own photos and completely customize those cards.

To top it off your Visa gift cards are FDIC Insured. Unlike store brand gift cards, if a store goes out of business you won’t loose these cards :)

    Just as a note: visa giftcards, while totally legit, can be a major pain in the butt. The problem is that stores can't check your balance for you. And you can't just use the last few bucks on your card and then pay the balance unless you already know how much was left on the card. Because it rings up as a credit card it will just be denied (I think) if you charge more than your balance. Also, checking your balance is a huge hassel and sometime the will even deduct a fee for checking the balance. Not cool.

    They're really practical gifts, you just have to be very mindful of how you're spending them so that you don't end up with a pile of visa gift cards with <$5 on them!
