Kevin Rose is the second most followed person on Twitter, with more than 88,000 followers he falls in behind President Obama (who doesn’t even use Twitter any more!)
Kevin put together a list of 10 things you can do to increase your followership on Twitter, you can find it on TechCrunch, I’m just going to highlight a couple of items on his list.
Advertise!
Put your Twitter address everywhere you can, email signatures, business cards etc. etc. (http://www.twitter.com/techburgh )
Run a contest
I know Kevin gave away his iPhone when he reached a certain number of followers.
Complete your bio
There’s a bio section in your account page for a reason – use it! People want to know who they’re following and why.
