Bikini babes and Porn worm hijacking Facebook links?
There’s a worm that has been making it’s way around Facebook. It’s seems to be spreading by way of users’ Facebook Walls and takes its unsuspecting clickers to porn sites.
To us in the business, this is called “Clickjacking”.
It would seem that the worm started its rounds on this week and takes the form of a picture of a woman dressed only in a bikini touting the text “click ‘da button, baby”.
Also, when the image is clicked, a post will be placed on the… clickers’ wall too, and so the worm spreads.
While its quite rare that viruses etc. spread through Facebook (for as big as it is), when they get going, they really get going.
Facebook users tend to trust their friends and those who post on their walls, thus quite happily click on whatever links are placed on there. Who’s not going to click on a link accompanying a bikini-clad babe?
Clickjacking isn’t uncommon throughout the internet. It’s a rather old trick that malicious developers use to increase clicks to sites for one reason and another.
Facebook has blocked the link associated with this latest worm and it should no longer be too much of a problem.
