(don’t expect me to lay out pretty posts like this all the time, tables and flash in WP take too long) So, do you ‘Twitter’, or tweet or whatever it’s called? "Twitter is a community of friends and strangers from around the world sending updates about moments in their lives. Friends near or far can use Twitter to remain somewhat close while far away. Curious people can make friends. Bloggers can use it as a mini-blogging tool." (Twitter.com FAQ) A recently published article pointed out that Twitter isn’t just for end users any more, it’s being use in an enterprise setting too. Let’s think of it less like a ‘blogging tool’ and more like a ‘communications tool’ all businesses need to communicate, right? Twitter could give teams, teammates, staff, etc individual, team and project status updates. It can be used for out of office updates and more. Some have described this as something of a seamless collaboration tool. Personally, I wouldn’t use Twitter to tell people where I am, ,whether I’m out of the office or not etc. I wouldn’t even use Pownce right now. I can see, if I was sitting in a conference or something I would use a tool like this to update my co-workers on what is being said, it would be easier because it’s pretty much real time ‘n all. What do you think? Would you use Twitter (or Pownce) in an enterprise setting? |
