June 17, 2011, this past weekend, representatives from Quantum Simulations, Inc. joined more than 1,100 riders in a two-day, 150 mile bike ride from Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania to the shores of Lake Erie in Conneaut, Ohio as part of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society MS-150 “Escape to the Lake 2011 Presented by FedEx Ground” fund raising event.
Quantum employees, Paul Miele, Director of IT, and Al Renshaw, VP of Marketing and Sales, participated in the ride. Quantum was a sponsor of Team Ansys, a team of fourteen riders who raised over $8,500 to fund research to find a cure for MS and help those individuals with MS lead more fulfilling lives.
“The National MS Foundation is doing so many good things to make a difference for those with MS,” comments Al Renshaw, VP of Marketing and Sales at Quantum. “Hearing the stories about those battling this debilitating disease truly represents the strength, courage and inspiration of the human spirit and serves as a constant reminder of all the gifts, such as good health, we often take for granted. We ride in honor of those that can’t.”
Every hour someone is diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. A gift to the National MS Society funds research and programs to help those living with MS. 93¢ of every dollar goes directly to this mission. If you would like to make a donation to the MS Society, please visit the Team Ansys page at:
