Network enhancements are underway in the Pitt Triangle, North Shore, Munhall, Station Square and Strip East— among others. Verizon is installing small cells throughout the region, which includes offloading macro cell sites before they reach capacity limits. This is very effective in maintaining speed and breadth of coverage, particularly in densely populated urban areas. As a result, Verizon customers in Pittsburgh can expect to experience improved network performance, faster download and upload speeds, enhanced Voice of LTE coverage, a wider network capacity and even better service at sporting events, festivals and fairs.
These enhancements are only the beginning! In addition to adding small cells and increasing capacity, Verizon customers will benefit from even more upgrades in 2017, including the roll-out of modern 5G technology. These new additions will ensure a stronger and more reliable connection to help Pittsburgh residents stay connected throughout the entire city.
