The iClever BTS07 6 Watt speaker combines Bluetooth 4.0 technology with a 10 hour battery life and houses it in a stylish, simple shell.
Connecting it to my iPhone (6S+) was easy of course – just a quick Bluetooth search on my phone picks it up – no complicated pairing and holding down buttons, which is always nice.
The flashing blue light in the speaker tells you it’s starting up – showing steady means it’s ready to go.
It’s not too fancy. There’s a mute button, phone, + and – (volume up/down & track skip).
One the back? A pull away rubber cover unveils the auxiliary port (3.5mm), and mini-USB port.
The sound is great. I’ve been using this speaker for a couple of weeks now. I first unboxed it for Halloween – I run my Hue lights with an app on my phone for Halloween sound effects. To give it an extra boost, I hook up a Bluetooth speaker. This one did the job, that’s for sure.
It’s not lacking in power.
6 Watts doesn’t sound like a lot, but it’s enough to rattle whatever is near to it. The bass is pretty good. iClever describes it as ‘premium CD-quality audio”.
The speaker housing is a matt black finish. It’s plastic but doesn’t feel plastic-y. There’s a nice, large rubber foot on the bottom to keep your speaker in place.
The speaker does have some weight to it, but it’s not too cumbersome.
There’s an auto-power off too to save your battery when you’re not playing your music.
Of course there’s a speaker (rather a sensitive one) built-in so that you can hands-free your phone through the speaker.
