Specialty chemicals manufacturer, LANXESS Corporation, was honored last night with the Fred Rogers Good Neighbor Award from the United Way of Allegheny County.
“This is iconic! We all have such great memories of Mr. Rogers and everything he stood for; a Good Neighbor Award feels like the ultimate corporate gold star from a childhood hero,” says Steve Nolder, vice president of Human Resources for LANXESS Corporation.
LANXESS Corporation was chosen due in part to its work with United Way’s Career Speakers program, noting that the staff of LANXESS Corporation has made a positive difference in the lives of many Pittsburghers, one person at a time.
To celebrate the award and keep volunteerism top of mind, LANXESS Corporation kicked off a sweater drive campaign that included Mr. Rogers personality Mr. McFeely. Additionally, around 10 employees also took a trolley to the Kelly Strayhorn Theater, where they accepted the award.
