All year long, many individuals spend a lot of their time saying how they wish that they could afford to help others more. With the convenience of AmazonSmile, you’re now able to do just that.
AmazonSmile is a simple, painless way to assist your favorite charity while not feeling a backlash to your wallet. They donate 0.5% of your purchase price (excluding shipping & handling, taxes, and any extra fees such as gift-wrapping or service charges) to the qualifying charity of your choice.
If you already have an Amazon account, the process of getting started is quite easy. All you do is go smile.amazon.com and log in with your regular Amazon account information. (If you don’t have an account, just take a few seconds to make one.) You’ll be asked to select the charity of your choice. You can choose from nearly one million organizations. If the charity you select turns out to be ineligible, AmazonSmile will simply ask you to select another organization to receive that donation instead. If at any time, you decide you want to choose a different charity, all you do is go into your account details and select a different organization.
After you’ve selected your charity, you’ll be sent to the AmazonSmile home page which looks exactly like the regular Amazon home page, with the exception of the logo in the upper left-hand corner of the page. Shop just like you normally would and just look for items that say “AmazonSmile eligible.” They don’t bother you with additional question during checkout and it can work in conjunction with your Amazon Prime account if you have one.
With the holiday season approaching fast, AmazonSmile is a great alternative to fighting the masses in stores. Plus, you get that sense of having done some good in the world to bolster you through the shopping you couldn’t take care of online.
Representatives can go to org.amazon.com to get information about registering their own 501(c)(3) charitable organizations.
