Motorola’s latest phone for Verizon is the Droid Turbo. Boasting a 48 hour battery life, Android 4.4.4 and HD Calling, it sounds like a top contender for one of the top phones, is it? Lets take a look and find out.
The big selling point for the Motorola Droid Turbo is the battery life of up too 48 hours. Now i’m hard on my phones and kill battery life quickly. I got the Turbo to go for at the most 10 hours before I needed to recharge it. This is still a good 4 or so hours more than I can normally get from a phone. A nice feature is the Turbo Charge that will give you up too 8 hours battery life in only 15 minutes. There isn’t any other phone out right now that can do that. The built in battery is 3900 mAh. The battery is non-removeable.
The screen is one of the places where the Turbo stands out. The 5.2″ Quad HD display offers a 1440 x 2560 resolution with a pixel density of 565ppi. This gives the Droid Turbo a higher pixel density than the iPhone 6 plus and the Galaxy Note Edge. This gives you one of the best screens on the market. You and watch pictures just as clear as your new Flat Screen HDTV and makes it for pleasurable movie and TV watching whether bored at work or on a long trip. The screen is also large enough that you don’t have to strain your eyes to watch a full movie.
The power for the Turbo comes from a Quad-Core 2.7Ghz Processor that can multitask and still save you on your battery life.
If you like taking pictures with your phone, the Motorola Droid Turbo won’t let you down. The Turbo has a 21 MP camera that will take high quality pictures and video at 4K resolution at 24 frames per second. This also gives you the most MP our of any Smart Phone Verizon Wireless sells. The front has a 2MP camera that works great on the Verizon XLTE network for Video Conferences, or just a video chat with your FaceBook friend. The Droid Turbo also features Dual LED Flash to enhance you picture quality in low light conditions.
Phone calls with the Droid Turbo are excellent, espcially if you have someone on the other end who also has a phone capable of HD phone calls. They are clearer than any other calls you have heard to this point. Also with the XLTE service. you can use your phone and have crystal clear video calls with no lag and no lost calls.
The Droid Turbo features Droid Assist. With this you can use voice commands to find an address, post to your favorite social network, and even set audio modes to silence your phone when at work and then change automatically when you reach your house or even just leave work. Now you never have to worry about your phone ringing in the middle of a meeting or miss posting that important FaceBook message just because you are driving.
The Motorola Droid Turbo we tested featured the Ballistic Nylon Backing. This backing gives you and nice surface to hold on to while also giving the Turbo a distinct look that you won’t find on other phones. The back also features a Motorola Logo in matching black and the DROID logo in silver.
One of the main downsides for me with the Droid Turbo is the the lack of a microSD Card Slot. The Turbo does offer 24GB of internal Storage, but with multiple movies and music I like to carry with me, I enjoy the extra storage space. Aside from that the Motorola Droid Turbo from Verizon Wireless is a great choice if you are in the market for a new Android Smart Phone. You can get a Droid Turbo in either in Ballistic Nylon or Red DuPont Kevlar.
The Motorola Droid Turbo if available from Verizon Wireless for $199.99 on a 2 year contract, $24.99 a month on an EDGE Plan, or $599.99 off Contract. Check out Verizon Wireless for this and all the other great devices that they offer.
