The #RuggedKnife Go2 Swiss Army style pocket knife from the Rugged Knife Company is more what I’d call a traditional Pocket Knife.
Traditional? The typical Swiss Army style. Various tool components folding into a central unit, as opposed to the now popular multi-tool plier-based style.
It’s nice to see a more traditional pocket knife. There’s something reassuring about it. Not quite a “blast from the past”, I think it’s more a case of “tried and tested”.

I like the simplicity. I appreciate the simplicity.
My first impression? It’s light. Surprisingly light. A total of 3.3 ounces.
Looking at the tool, it looks stylish, rugged, and very… well…metal. You’d not expect it to weight as little as it does.
The knife is an all metal construction, with embedded plastic highlights each end, on each side. The plastic makes the whole thing a little more friendly an tactile.
Of course, the main component of any pocket knife is the knife. Rugged has built in a nice stainless steel knife. The blade itself is 2.5”. A handy but not dominating tool.
As with any pocket knife there are the staple tools – Philips and flat head screwdrivers, mini-scissors, bottle opener, can opener, nail file/cleaner, and corkscrew. It does have its own key ring, too.
After some testing, these seem to be retaining their integrity. They’re not easily scuffed or scratched. using the tool as a grip actually in your hand – this makes it easier to get the torque on the driver that you need.
The Philips screwdriver is nicely positioned because it opens at a right angle to the tool,
It’s a great tool to keep around. It’s a nice pocket or purse size. Good for a car glove box.
