PITTSBURGH – In today’s increasingly connected world, the opportunities to create products and solutions for the Internet of Things are everywhere. Verizon Wireless is answering this call for innovation with its first developer workshop in Pittsburgh at the Carnegie Science Center’s Works Theater on Wednesday, Oct. 21.
The workshop is part of the Verizon Partner Program (VPP) which helps businesses, startup companies and developers learn about how to connect their technology with the Verizon network. Through the developer workshop, Verizon is seeking engineers and innovators across southwestern Pennsylvania to take their innovations to the next level.
During the half-day event, Verizon Wireless will work through the full development cycle from ideation to iteration. Attendees will learn from Verizon experts about specific topics including hardware design, certification, implementation and product launch.
Several Verizon partners will be participating in the program, including Sierra Wireless, Cradlepoint, DH Wireless, Janus Remote Communications, Connected Development, MultiTech, Digi Wireless Design Services, and NimbeLink.
“Verizon is a great partner for developers,” said Nicholas Anthony, founder and CEO of PiMios, a Pennsylvania-based company focused on Internet of Things integration for commercial application. “Verizon caters their data offerings to their partners needs for secure, cost-effective options that are easily integrated into valuable business solutions.”
The workshop will give attendees the opportunity to meet Verizon’s development partners and get a hands-on experience with a variety of hardware tools. Verizon experts will be available throughout the event to answer questions about the Internet of Things, hardware and data solutions, power consumption and network activity.
The Verizon Developer Workshop will run from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Serious developers and engineers can register to attend the free event at https://www.vzwadkit.com/PittsburghDeveloperWorkshop.
