Personal assistants and Smart Homes are all the rage. Google entered the fray in November of 2016 with the Google Home assistant. Is the Google Home worth Purchasing? Continue reading to find out what we thought of ours.
When you open the box, you will see that the Google Home is very easy to set up. The package includes the Google Home, Power Cable, and instructions.
Setting up the Google Home is a breeze. First, after you figure out where you want to place your Home, plug it in and download the Home app that is available for both Android and iOS. Once you open the app, your phone will search for the Google home you plugged in. Once it finds your device, it will connect you to it and guide you through the setup process. During this process you will be asked to say OK Google several times. It is just like setting up Google Assistant on your Android Device. You will also be able to link your Google account to the Home during this process. Once this is done, you are good to go.
If you have multiple people in your house that want to use the Home, you can just have them download the app onto their device and set up the Home just as you did when you first opened it. Now the Google Home will recognise each person individually and will be able to customize its responses to the individual person.
So you are asking yourself, what can the Google Home do? Well, the answer is what can’t it do. Aside from actually going to the kitchen and making you food, it can pretty much assist you in anything. Want to know the weather? Just ask. Daily schedule? just ask. Want to hear a joke? Just ask. If you are having trouble sleeping, just ask Google to play you some thunderstorm sounds or white noise and fall right asleep. Lets list some of the other things it can do.
Give you recipes, Tell you the weather, play music, control your Smart Home devices, be your alarm clock, give you spelling and be a thesaurus, fact check your friends or politicians, stream audio for your mobile device, listen to podcasts, create shopping lists, hear sports score’s, listen to daily news, and the list goes on and on. If we were to type out everything that the Google Home can do, our keyboard would probably be worn out. And that’s just with Google Home. If you and in a Google Chromecast to the mix, you can then stream and control your TV and what’s on it. You can also stream your audio.
Overall, the Google Home is nice to have and comes in very handy. I am quite happy with the function and ease of use of the Google Home.
