I use my Google Contacts all the time – it’s my central address book for everything, my iPad, my iPhone, my desktop computers – they’re all tied together with one address book. It’s great because it’s not based on one device. If I misplace or erase one device I know my entire address book is safe because it is safe and sound in Google’s Cloud somewhere. All I need to do is reattach my devices address book, sync and I’m good to go again. Brilliant!
Accidents do happen though, people make mistakes – contacts are added, changed or removed.
Google has added a handy new feature to Google Contacts (google.com/contacts) through which you can restore your Contacts list to any revision up to 30 days ago.
